A 1970 model Silver Shadow mini-bike takes this week’s sale of the week prize.  This highly collectible mini-bike is quite rare.  It was made at Speedway Products in Ohio during the height of the origional mini bike craze in 1970.  At that time many bikes were made from lawn mower parts found in the garage; the Speedway Products company capitalized on the craze.

The bike was sold in good running condition and ready to be restored.  The 125cc Sachs engine was one of the most powerful and fastest engines of the genre.

There were 5 bidders on this bike and the final price was $1,725.  The venue was eBay and the sale date was 8/27/2008.

A 1971 Honda CT 70 Mini Bike gets honors for our sale of the week.  This retro bike from the early 1970’s was completely rebuilt and sold at auction without title-the new owner will have to register it as an antique motorcycle.

It was rebuilt from the ground up, with new tires, new brakes, new air box, new rubber boot, etc.  The original Honda engine was rebuilt as well and was sold in like new condition.  The clutch is automatic on this manual three speed transmission model.

There were 39 bidders for this retro mini bike and when the dust settled, the sales price was $1,726.01.  This bike was a great acquisition for the winning collector.  The venue was eBay and the sale date was 8/25/2008.
